If you're thinking about planting some trees, we'd love for you to come by and work with us on a plan! It's very important to pick the right spots for planting. Just remember, all District planted tree plans must follow NRCS's Standards and Specifications and be cleared of any Cultural Resources. Also, the planting site needs to be broken a year ahead of time.
COSTS:
In the fall, we conduct soil tests using two pickups equipped with in-cab soil probes.
We also utilize GPS to mark all probe locations and can revisit these sites in subsequent years if the cooperator desires. The district sends the soil samples for either a Small Grains test, which analyzes Nitrogen (at two depths), Phosphorus, Potassium, pH, Salts, Sulfur, Chloride, Copper, and Organic Matter, or a Row Crop test, which includes Nitrogen (at two depths), Phosphorus, Potassium, pH, Salts, Sulfur, Zinc, Copper, and Organic Matter. Additional or specialized tests can be provided for an extra fee. Please note that the charges for soil testing will cover lab expenses, are subject to change at any time, and are outlined as follows:
Maps brought in after October 15th will be considered for spring testing and an additional $40 per field will be subject to pay
